We were the first ones to tell you about the electric version of the famous TVS XL 100. Additionally, the patent pictures of this EV were also revealed some time back.
Now, TVS has decided to give this electric moped a name, and it could be called either TVS E-XL or TVS XL EV. The Hosur-based company has registered both these names and with this, it is clear that the launch of this two-wheeler is around the corner.
The TVS XL 100 moped sells in really good numbers and is mostly used by commercial establishments. The cost of acquiring the XL 100 is quite low as it is priced at around Rs. 45,000. Plus, the running costs are also low, which makes it feasible for hotels and last-mile delivery partners.
The EV version of the XL 100 is likely to be priced higher than the ICE versions, but we can expect it to be one of the most affordable EVs in the country. TVS is likely to sell this EV in large numbers as it will help them manufacture in big volumes, bringing down the costs through economies of scale.
