Honda Stylo 160 design patented in India

– India launch not confirmed

– On sale only in Indonesia for now

After recently patenting the design of four big bikes in India, Honda has now added the Stylo 160 scooter to the list. While this might just be Honda’s usual intellectual property-protecting exercise, the company might surprise us by launching the scooter in India. If that happens, the Stylo 160 will go up against the likes of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the upcoming Hero Xoom 160.

The Stylo 160 is on sale only in Indonesia where it was introduced earlier this year. It’s a typical Honda in terms of how conservatively it has been designed with a clear aim of appealing to riders of all age groups. The bodywork boasts curvy and swooping design lines all across with an oval-shaped headlamp, a large single-piece seat, and a sturdy grab rail. Complementing its simple yet elegant design is a decent amount of features. There’s full LED lighting, a digital console, a keyless start system, and a USB charger.

Powering the Stylo is a 156.9cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes around 16bhp and 15Nm of torque and comes paired with a CVT system. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. The braking setup on the higher-spec variant comprises a single disc at both ends with single-channel ABS. It is also available in a more affordable variant with CBS. The kerb weight of the Stylo 160 stands at 118kg.
