New-gen Yamaha Tenere 700 spied testing for the first time

– Will be launched in early 2025

– Features revised styling and a new headlamp design

– Likely to get new rear suspension

The next-generation Yamaha Tenere 700 has been spied testing in Europe. This is the first time that the Tenere 700 is getting a generational update since its launch in 2019.

The test prototype wears a heavy tarpaulin camouflage to cover its updated bodywork. Even then, the new front profile and the redesigned LED headlight are clearly recognizable. Right below the headlamp, we can also see new air intakes between the radiator and the fairing.

On the chassis front, the 2025 Tenere 700 is seen running a new linkage-type suspension that is said to offer better progression and wheel travel. Meanwhile, the front suspension looks identical to the existing model, and we won’t be surprised if Yamaha carries it over to the next-generation model.

The motorcycle could also get a new seat with denser cushioning. Other than this, we can’t see any other changes on the motorcycle. Powering the new Yamaha Tenere 700 will be the same 689cc, parallel-twin, CP2 engine. The liquid-cooled motor produces 73bhp and 68Nm of peak torque on the existing model. It comes paired with a six-speed gearbox.

The next-generation Yamaha Tenere 700 will be launched globally in the first half of 2025. But, don’t get your hopes high, as Yamaha is unlikely to launch the motorcycle in India. As for its competition, it will continue to rival the KTM 890 Adventure, Honda Transalp XL750, and the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE.
