Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 prototype unveiled!

– Teased in the overseas market

– Gets a round LED headlight and rugged styling

– Rides on alloy wheels with block pattern tyres

Husqvarna has teased the upcoming Svartpilen 801 prototype in the international market. The production model will debut on 19 March but as of now, we have a teaser of what it will look like.

The Svartpilen 801 prototype has revealed a similar design to the recently launched Svartpilen 401. The 801 gets a round LED headlight with an LED DRL ring. The prototype is also equipped with a grille which we think would be offered as an accessory on the production model. Then, it is kitted with a single-piece tubular handlebar, bash plate, and an upswept exhaust.

Since both, KTM and Husqvarna belong to the same Pierer mobility, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 uses the same tubular chassis, adjustable USD front forks, and monoshock, as the 790 Duke, which is also sold in the international market as of now. That said, the rear subframe on the new Husqvarna twin appears different.

Speaking of platform sharing, the upcoming Svartpilen 801 will also use the 790 Duke’s twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine but the output will be marginally higher at 103.6bhp. The engine will be linked to a six-speed gearbox and Husqvarna says it will benefit from a bi-directional quick-shifter as well.

You can also expect other electronic aids on the bike including ride modes, traction control, ABS modes with a supermoto setting, a TFT with smartphone connectivity, and probably cruise control too.

Husqvarna will showcase the production version of the Svartpilen 801 in less than two weeks but it will be limited to the international markets only and unlikely to be launched in India.
