– Transalp has a main stand issue
– Spring could fail
– Will be fixed free of cost
Honda has recalled a series of Transalp 750 adventure motorcycles in Europe. This recall is related to the main stand.
According to the recall notice, the issue with the main stand is sold as an accessory. There’s an issue with the central spring of the main stand. This spring could fail if the stand is either raised or is in the lowered position. If the spring fails when the bike is in motion, then the stand would drag itself on the road, which is a high risk. Even when the bike is on the main stand, if the spring fails, the bike could fall over.
While Honda hasn’t revealed the total number of bikes affected by this recall, they did say that the bikes were manufactured between 24 January 2023 and 1 December. As of now, the recall is limited to German motorcycles, but there’s a high chance it would have affected other European markets as well. The affected customers will be contacted and the fix will be provided free of cost.
Honda India sells the Transalp in India, but the overall sales are quite low. As a result of this, this recall wouldn’t really affect the Indian market. Plus, very few customers would have opted for Honda’s main stand due to expensive pricing.
