BMW CE 04 Launching On 24th July – Range, Specs, Features

The BMW CE 04 electric scooter is finally ready to hit Indian roads on July 24, 2024. The model has futuristic design and is claimed to offer “intelligent connectivity solutions”. The e-scooter was first showcased in its concept avatar as Concept Link in 2017 at Frankfurt, followed by an update and new name ‘Definition CE 04’ in late 2020. BMW unveiled its final production version as CE 04 in July 2021. Since its first concept version, the electric scooter received several road-legal design changes.

The powertrain setup of the new BMW electric scooter consists of an 8.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a permanent magnet liquid-cooled synchronous motor mounted in the steel frame between the battery and rear wheel. This setup delivers a claimed power of 42bhp (31kW) and 61.9Nm (45.7 lb-ft) of torque. The battery pack is placed between the floorboard.

BMW Motorrad claims that the e-scooter offers a range of 129km (WMTC cycle) and a maximum speed of 75mph. It takes around 4 hours 20 minutes to get fully charged by using a standard charger. One can juice up its battery pack in just 1 hour 40 minutes by using a 6.9kW fast charger. The CE 04 can do 0 to 50kmph in 2.6 seconds. There are three riding modes to choose from – Eco, Road and Rain along with the two optional modes – Dynamic and Dynamic Traction Control.

For performing suspension duties, the BMW CE 04 uses a 35mm telescopic fork upfront and a preload adjustable monoshock with a single-sided swingarm at the rear. It has twin 265mm discs and a single disc rear brakes along with the ABS and the optional ABS Pro. In terms of features, the electric scooter offers a large 10.25-inch, high-resolution TFT display supporting smartphone connectivity, a ventilated mobile charging compartment with a type-C USB charging port, V-shaped headlamp with LED headlight, front apron, LED DRLs, large side panels, bench-like seat and a tilt rear section.
